General
All campers and PAs ride the bus unless they are traveling to camp with an adult volunteer.*

Mountaindale North Day Camp is located at the Mountaindale Outdoor Program Center, a property owned and managed by the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington.

For security reasons, we do not post the camp's address on our website. We will include the camp's address with your child's registration email.

Mountaindale North is a closed-gate camp. During operating hours, no one is allowed on camp property without prior approval from the camp director.

Mountaindale North operates rain or shine. In the event of an emergency camp closure, we will contact parents by 8:00 a.m. (Please ensure your contact info is up to date in our online registration system).

Email is our primary communication method for emergencies, closures, and updates. Please ensure you can receive mass emails from our camp.

Cell service is not reliable at Mountaindale.

Mountaindale North Day Camp operates under Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington (GSOSW), a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The GSOSW federal tax ID number is 93-0399051.
Health
All campers and PAs ride the bus unless they are traveling to camp with an adult volunteer.*

Campers are allowed to bring their own non-aerosol, unscented sunscreen and bug spray.

All sunscreen and bug spray cannot be shared with others due to potential allergies.

We recommend applying sunscreen and bug spray before sending your child to camp.

If you'd like your child to have access to sunscreen or bug spray at the first aid station, please provide permission on their health form during registration.

Please ensure epi-pens and inhalers are listed on your child's Medication Permission form if they are being brought to camp. Your child's Medication Permission Form is included in our registration system.

If any changes occur between registration and the start of camp, please fill out a new Medication Permission Form and email it to health@mountaindalenorth.org.

If your child carries an Epi-pen or inhaler, the camp directors, camp health adviser, and your child's unit leader will be informed to ensure their safety.

Campers who require an Epi-pen or inhaler should carry them at all times while at camp.

Medication from Home

If your camper requires medication during the camp day, please send it with your camper on Monday.

All medications must be in their original packaging with the camper's name clearly labeled.

A Medication Permission form is required for our Health Supervisor to administer any medication. This form is included as a part of registration.

If any changes occur between registration and the start of camp, please fill out a new Medication Permission Form and email it to health@mountaindalenorth.org.

Medications and forms will be collected on Monday morning when campers arrive.

With the exception of Epi-pens and inhalers, all medications must remain with the Health Supervisor.

All medications will be returned with campers on Friday.
Receiving Camp-Provided OTC Medication from Our Health Advisors

The Health Advisor keeps general-purpose OTC medications on hand, including acetaminophen (Tylenol), ibuprofen (Advil), diphenhydramine (Benadryl), and antibiotic cream (Neosporin).

Parents must give permission on their child's health form at registration for the child to receive any medication from the Health Advisor.

Food

Life-threatening food allergies must be noted in your child's health information provided during registration.

The health Advisor, Kitchen Staff, your child's Unit Leaders, and the Transportation Advisor (if necessary) will receive this information.

If there are any changes to your child's allergy status between registration and when camp begins, please email health@mountaindalenorth.org.

While our camp does not serve peanut products, we cannot guarantee that food has not been cross-contaminated.

If you are concerned about your child eating food provided by the camp, please send food from home as an alternative.

All dietary needs should be noted in your child's health form at registration.

The camp will provide vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options during the overnight and for Friday's breakfast and lunch.

The camp will provide menus in advance of camp.

Campers are welcome to bring food from home to either supplement or replace any meals that the camp provides.

Campers should bring lunch in a gallon-size Ziploc bag with their name on it. All garbage will go home with the camper every day.

Please do not send lunchboxes or glass containers.

The camp will provide food to anyone who forgets their lunch at home.

The Camper Release form lists the adults who are approved to pick up your child.

The Camper Release will be sent to parents via a Google Form upon registration.

If you arrange a carpool for your camper, please add all adult drivers to the form.

Please note the deadline for making changes to your child's camper release form (Sunday, the week before camp).

Only in cases of an emergency, if you need to make changes to your child's Camper Release after the deadline, please email transportation@mountaindalenorth.org.

We ask that parents minimize last-minute changes to help us maintain smooth camp operations.

Attendance

CAMPERS: All camper absences should be reported to attendance@mountaindalenorth.org.

PAs: All PA absences should be reported to the PA coordinator via text.

VOLUNTEERS: All volunteer absences should be reported to the camp Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@mountaindalenorth.org.

To help maintain smooth camp operations, MNDC discourages late drop-offs and early pick-ups.

We ask that parents try not to schedule appointments for their campers during the camp week that would necessitate late drop-off or early pick-up.

If your child does need to be dropped off late or picked up early, parents must make arrangements with the camp in advance. Please email attendance@mountaindalenorth.org.

Please do not drive to Mountaindale without letting the camp know first.

The camp property has a closed gate and a one-way driveway, which require coordination to ensure the safety of everyone entering and leaving camp.
